Title

Fred Clark's House, Hartland Hollow, Granville, Massachusetts

Description

Thanks to Kathleen Bracken for solving the mystery of this house. It belonged to Fred Beers Clark (1864- ?) and was located across the river (Valley Brook, aka Great Valley Brook) from his father, Benjamin Clark, Sr.

The second photo is of the Benjamin Clark family in front of the house. This was probably taken after the death of Benjamin Clark, Sr. who died in 1889. The two girls sitting on the ground are Mildred (left) and Hazel (right) Clark.

The third image is the obituary for Benjamin Warner Clark, son of Benjamin Clark. He is likely the man in the center of the family photo.

Fred Clark and Annie Nelson married in 1885 and according to the note on the back of the photo lived in this house until Annie died in 1896.

Fred remarried, to Laure Tait(sp?) in 1898. Unfortunately Laura passed away and Fred married for the third time in 1912 to a woman with the intriguing name of Louisiana Beauregard.

A phoho of Fred's father's barn is at THIS LINK.
