CCC Dam, Footbridge and Spillway, Granville State Park

Title

CCC Dam, Footbridge and Spillway, Granville State Park

Description

A footbridge on the dam that once created a pond on the east side of West Hartland Road for swimming and recreation. This dam was constructed in 1935 and is located across from the former site of a multi-stall garage built and used by the CCC.

Thanks to Robert Hague for correctly identifying the photo. It appears the description in the MACRIS document is incorrect and this is not a roadway bridge.

Also thanks to Robert Hague for taking the photos showing the area as of approx 1990 (2nd photo) and 30 July 2020.

I am 99% sure this picture is not labeled correctly. It is not a bridge on W. Hartland Rd. that goes over the Hubbard River, but a footbridge on the dam that once created a pond on the east side of W. Hartland Rd.for swimming and recreation. If you look closely, I think it is clear that it is a footbridge. If you want I can send a link (will need an email address) that has 2 pictures, one when this was a pond and the other after they drained the pond down to a little stream. This dam is located across from the former site of a multi-stalled garage built and used by the CCCC.
