I'm the granddaughter of Harold Satter. He was the brother of Lester Sattler. They both worked in the MA State Forest. Do you know who the Sattler was named for and what date is was named?

Thank you for your help,

Not sure what you're referring to as "the Sattler" but would be happy to look into it if you can provide more background. The Sattler family was a large part of West Granville life until Ernie passed away not that many years ago. They owned a number of houses, especially Ernie. Lester Sattler's house was torn down but you can see it at this URL:

If you can provide further details about your inquiry please email them to granvillehistory@cwmars.org

Thank you!

The Ore Hill School was named after Ore Hill, which in turn was named after the Ore family who lived in that area. A common misperception is that it was named after some sort of ore.

Hello -

I'm the granddaughter of James Madison Wallace. His brother Edward Webster Wallace & Clarissa Adelaide Wallace are also in the picture. For my family & our family genealogy this is a very precious picture. We have much family history in the town of Granville in that timeline. Wallace, Randall, & Aldrich. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

thank you,

Lorrie Wallace

Enjoyed our conversation today and hope it was helpful. You can also learn more about the West Granville Aldrich family by searching this site for "Aldrich." George Aldrich was from Vermont and took many of the photos on this site in the early 1900's. His daughters May and Leona were prolific writers about life in Granville and many of their accounts are also on this site.
