Crest Lane (formerly South Lane 2), South Lane School, Circa 1850
Title
Crest Lane (formerly South Lane 2), South Lane School, Circa 1850
Description
South Lane School, circa 1850. South Lane 2 (renamed to Crest Lane). MACRIS inventory #GRN 34.
This school building became obsolete with the construction of the West Granville school on Beech Hill Road in 1934/35. The 1936 photo of the school shows the flag still flying so perhaps the photo is actually 1935 or this school remained open for a brief period after the West Granville school opened.
See map for location. School house was located to the left of the Liberty Hill banner in the center of the map.
