Description
Wilcox Hotel, Granville. The hotel was run by Columbus and Jane Wilcox, who had four children: Clara, Annie, Frank and Winifred (Winnie).
Winifred Wilcox married Delphia W. Roberts in 1902. Winnie donated a number of items in the Historical Room. Her sister Clara was active in the Library Club. Annie married Orville Noble. Frank Wilcox worked at the drum shop and died at the age of 28.
The picture of the three women on the hotel steps MAY be the three Wilcox sisters (anybody know?).
The Hotel was torn down in 1963. It was located where the village green is now, across from the store. The present parking area for the store was in front of the Hotel.
Clara Wilcox was the last resident.

I remember going to an auction there with my Grandfather Joe Dickinson. I was not that old in 63 so I don't think it was torn down much earlier than 1963.
