Granby Road 0041
Title
Granby Road 0041
Description
The house on the corner of Granby Road and Water Street, in the Petersen family for many years (owned by Randolph Petersen in 1941). The old Granville Village School used to be located here as well as the village post office and a small store. The house has since been added onto.
The vehicle on the right side of the photo is what used to be called a doodlebug, or "Depression tractor." Farmers would take worn out cars and trucks, strip off the bodies and fenders, shorten the frames, and make a farm tractor out of them. Not the safest thing but looks like a lot of fun! Gary Petersen recalls that he learned to drive on that old tractor in the 1940's.
