Boston & Albany Train Derailment, November 7, 1939
A nine car train derailed on 07 Nov 1939, injuring five passengers and bruising dozens. The derailment occurred on the section of line somewhere between Westfield and Springfield.
The photos were taken by one of the Hiers brothers. It appears the photographer was either on the train or in the immediate vicinity at the time of the derailment given the number of passengers in the photos who seem to have just exited the passenger compartments.
