Recollections of this house:
CB: "In my life time, Carpenters, Ellers, Fraser's, and now K------."
JWA: "And the Daniels before the Carpenters."
AF: " I grew up there 🙂 80s & 90s. I would love to know the full history of the property, I was always fascinated with it. It had a false stair with a large space below rumored to be used in the underground railroad."
KO: " I remember that! You grew up in a beautiful home ❤️"
DZ: "I lived there from ages 2-13, from 1951-1962. I never heard of a false stair. I do recall going to the root cellar for vegetables. I also remember a flood when water almost came up to the first floor. Then there was the time my father was burning the field (with permission) but the fire got out of hand."
AF: "The back staircase that came down from the bedroom behind the upstairs bathroom to the backdoor/ mudroom area. About 3-4 stairs up had a stair you could remove to reveal a wooden box like room! Yes the root cellar was toward the front of the basement if I recall correctly."
JN: "That's it...absolutely loved this home. So beautiful!"
DZ: "This is still my favorite house. I definitely did not want to move away. I did survive, however and have loved many other houses since."
DIT: "DZ this was such a great house! I remember having so much fun when we hung out together here. Great memories! 💕"
DB: "My grandmother Bess Peebles lived in this house for many years."]]>
