An account of the resource
Please see the caption under the photo.
Photo was shared on the Granville Tolland Community group page, June 2021. Shared memories:
DC: "That beautiful Diamond T was the Cadillac of trucks. I think it was a 1947 or '48. When the Fire Dept. retired the truck it came up for public bid. I was high bidder with a bid of $777.77 and surprisingly the only bidder. I drove the truck home and the Hampden Fire Dept. played with it for the day pumping water, etc. Eventually the truck was sold to K.M. of East Windsor who had three tobacco barns full of antique trucks."
GH: "Just a quick footnote. This would have been taken at the old Fire Department building, which is still standing at the Noble & Cooley drum shop on Water Street. As the town purchased newer and bigger fire engines the building had to be raised several feet from its original height to accommodate the modern equipment."
DLM: "My father was a volunteer fireman in the 60's I don't remember the dates but I do remember him flying out of the driveway when the siren went off."

Old Man Sitting In Front Of An Old Cabin, Granville, Massachusetts
Description
An account of the resource
Photo from the Miles Rose family collection, probably late 1800's. No notation on the photo identifying the person or place.
Carol Laun, historian and archivist at the Salmon Brook Historical Society (Granby), noticed this photo and commented as follows: "We received the [same] photo from Judge Theodore G. Case in 1969, but the picture had originally belonged to Cullen Hayes who lived at 67 Barn Door Hills Road. So who is this popular guy and did he live in Granby or Granville?"
The Case and Rose families were related by marriage which probably explains why both families had the photo. But who's the guy?
Good question. Anybody???
